You may have noticed some speed issues with the website recently. The interest in L, our new channel service, and the new website has resulted more than ten times as many hits in the last day than we normally get. The L request page has been especially effected, and unfortunately our webserver is straining a little under the load.
Now, if we just served normal static pages, that would be no problem. However the L request page is relatively heavy on webserver resources (and no this is not related to the graphics - it is related to the request process itself). This almost slowed the webserver box to a complete halt, so we have disabled the L request page for now. We're working on it though, expect it back up within a day or so.
On a related note, we gave L to 3611 channels in the first 24 hours.
