Italian Server Upgrade

Posted by cro on Friday 24 January 2003

Switch has passed along word that irc.it.quakenet.org, kindly donated by NGI, is being replaced with a new, more powerful machine.

The new server will be a dual P3 800Mhz machine with 1Gb of RAM, capable of supporting 16,000 clients, bringing some much-needed extra capacity to the network.

The new server is located in Milan (that's in Northern Italy for all you geography buffs).
