Well, now the demo\'s out it shouldn\'t be too long before the dev-chat starts. Get thinking of some decent questions and I hope to see you all there!

The dev chat is a good idea but the channel should not be full of people that only make fun of you when asking a question.

To me it felt as if the \"devloper\" was just picking stuff straight out of EA\'s \"top-10-non-volatile-questions-that-our-first-line-support-gets-every-day\"-list. Quite lame to be honest.. :-/

#11 I feel you are incorrect. If you\'d have actually been in the channel where the questions were literally pouring into at a rate of ~1 evey 2 seconds, you\'d realise that for one person, spending a large amount of time on in-depth hard-to-answer questions was not an option. I\'m sure EA have forums for tech-discussions. James Salt did a fantastic job and it would seem most people were appreciative of the fact he took 2 hours out to talk to us.

Yeah it was quite a cool moment, too bad he didn\'t answer my question tho :)

Tidus said on Thursday 16 June 2005

The questions he answered were all in the readme.txt, he should of picked some Questons which were not in the readme, That would of helped alot.

I can\'t complain, he answered two questions of mine :)

i wish there was some place to find discussion or feedback on the new identd thing.. i cannot connect _at all_, ive gone so far as to setting my computer as DMZ in the router (after trying port forwarding and disabling every single firewall i have) and i still cannot get on quakenet. if anyone can give me a link or something to fix this, id greatly appreciate it... i dont think ive ever had identd work in my lifetime

mcshaggy said on Tuesday 02 August 2005

mcshaggy: same here dude... their policy is retarded and it seems that their system is not working anyways because no matter what I did to my configuration, it still doesn\'t work... stupid, reallly.

Scope|SwaT said on Tuesday 02 August 2005

If you don\'t provide an ident reply, you\'ll be glined when you try to connect, if you do provide an ident reply, you wont (not by this gline reason anyway), it\'s working as designed. Most firewalls block ident replies unless configured correctly, nothing QuakeNet can do about that. If you are complaining about having to provide an ident reply, trust users do without a problem, and due to the abuse we could have just glined the whole ISP, I\'m guessing you\'d prefer this option?
