Using the QuakeNet RR aliases

Posted by Vekotin on Friday 14 December 2001

In addition to connecting to any single QuakeNet server, QuakeNet offers several ways of connecting to a random QuakeNet server via round robins aliases. Connecting to irc.quakenet.org will connect you to a random QuakeNet server - however, a better alternative is connecting to a random server of a specific country, by connecting to .quakenet.org, such as uk.quakenet.org or fi.quakenet.org. A full of list the country specific RR's is on the servers page. Usage of the country specific round robins is highly preferred over the use of the global round robin. Happy QuakeNetting and remember - December is a good time to drink milk.
